A Day in the Life of our April and yes, once again creating a short film has been so therapeutic and enlightening. It’s a way for me to slow down and take in all that is going on in our crazy chaotic life. If you could hear the noise in the background as I type away right now, you might run for some sound deafening headphones. Yes, somedays I do wish I had a pair!! LOL But honestly, these are sounds that I know in 5, 10, 15 years I’ll wish I could hear. It makes me a little weepy when I think about how fast my boys are growing up. sigh.
It’s really easy to not pick up the camera and just be in the moment. Sometimes though, those moments are just so much sweeter when I slow down, and listen. Do you ever find yourself just saying, “uh huh” or are you truly present? That’s a little of what this artistic medium is for me. It’s truly a work in progress but I do it with my heart wide open and my ears buzzing.
April’s theme was “A Day in the Life”. Since I previously shared a bit about our morning routine, I thought it might be fun to share a glimpse into our after school life. There is so much more than this short film shows, but this particular day last week was a pretty laid back day for us – my favorite days of the week are Tuesday and Wednesdays with not much going on. Normally, we have sports, for the triplets that’s soccer and baseball, and right now talent show rehearsals! And for big brother it’s Lacrosse known as LAX here (never heard of it before moving to the East coast!! gasp! and it’s a lot of practices)! Here’s a glimpse on one of our downtime days.
I’m lucky enough to be collaborating with a few other talented Mommas and artists sharing their “Day in the Life” starting with the crazy talented, Amber Walder. She is one of the sweetest people I’ve met online and her work is just beautiful and emotive. Hop on over to her blog to continue around the circle.
